Kevin Amos is a drummer, percussionist, composer and educator based in the SF Bay Area. In addition to many Western Style classical and contemporary Jazz musics, his musical inspirations and direct works involve multi-cultural traditions such as Trinidad & Tobago steelpan, Afro-Cuban rumba and timba, folkloric Brazilian music, and West African diaspora. Kevin has performed for jazz ensembles, big band jazz orchestras, large and small steelbands, small chamber ensembles, classical symphonies and orchestras, live theatre/drama, salsa groups, West African ballet-style dundun and kpanlogo ensembles.
Kevin Amos is currently an active performer in the ATOM Ensemble, the Chris Trinidad Collective, the Brazilian/Salsa dance band Karamba, The R&B and soul band Solfire, as drummer for singer-songwriter Kira Hooks, and is hired for contracted performance work throughout the Bay Area.
